Birthday Shout Out

Today is my mom's birthday.
And since she's currently one of my only (if not THEE only) followers, I definitely think she deserves a double shout out!
This birthday is one of the big ones...I won't say which big one it is, but its kind of a big deal.
Like it took her five decades to work up to this day kind of big.  Yeah.
And I've been lucky enough to know her for almost half of that time.  Jealous?  You should be.  My mom is a pretty special lady.  I love that as I get older, I'm able to relate to her more and we can actually have real adult conversations instead of the awkward mother/daughter mini chats that were typical during my teen years.  Our phone calls always crack me up because one of us will say we need to go and then bring up some other random topic that gets us off on a tangent for another 10 minutes or so.  And not only does she give some solid advice, she is also fully open to any advice I send her way.  I don't really know of many parents who don't pull the "I'm older, I know best" trump card when their kids try to offer insight.  Not my momma.  She's not afraid to ask my opinion and really listen to what I have to say.  But I do believe one of my mom's best qualities is how much she encourages me.  Maybe I need it, maybe I don't, either way she tells me how awesome I am.  She makes sure to keep things realistic, but no matter what she lets me know how proud she is of me and that she knows if I set my mind to something I'll git 'er done.
So because of all that,
 and because I love you,
Happy Birthday Mom!

Aww my Torr, how I do love you, thanks for making me cry, and making my day, maybe even my year!!!! I do love you and do think you are an awsome woman who can do anything you set your mind to. Keep up the good work, sorry I'm a little behind in reading! Those basically two weeks in a hotel with a baby really put me behind! Again...I LOVE YOU to the moon! :)
